Glendale : Woman Slain; Killer at Large
A Glendale woman was fatally shot while visiting friends in Eagle Rock on Friday, and the gunman remained at large early this week, police said.
Sharon Campbell, 34, died after a bullet entered her shoulder and lodged in her heart, Los Angeles Police Detective Ron Whitt said.
The shooting occurred while Campbell was standing in a warehouse that had been converted into a home in the 4100 block of Verdugo Road.
One of Campbell’s friends fired a handgun, but investigators could not immediately determine whether the woman was shot intentionally during an argument or accidentally, Whitt said.
The gunman, whose identity was not known by police, fled with an acquaintance after the shooting. The gunman’s friend, Ramiro Romero, 21, of Los Angeles was arrested Sunday on suspicion of being an accomplice to murder, Whitt said. Romero has denied any involvement, the detective said.
