Maya Angelou’s Poem

Thanks for publishing the full text of Maya Angelou’s fantastically thought-provoking poem and for your cogent observations in your editorial, “The Poet and the Moment” (Jan. 21). For me, her performance was second to none. To have the poem in print is a tremendous personal gift; but the printed word falls far short of the once-in-a-lifetime experience of hearing Maya Angelou deliver this masterpiece in her unforgettable voice via TV at Bill Clinton’s inauguration--a super touch!
