SUPER BOWL XXVII : The Spotlight : HOODWINKED

A shell game, taking place along Seco Avenue leading to the basin, greeted unsuspecting spectators before the football game. A man and three accomplices took up to $500 from naive fans. The accomplices--a woman and two men--easily picked the shell that covered a red ball and were quickly handed several hundred-dollar bills.

When anyone else tried, amazingly, it wasn’t as easy.

Nearby, a man yelled through a bullhorn: “It is a sin to gamble on Sunday. You are all going to hell.”
