If Weather Clears, Lakes Should Too

If the storms subside, the water clears and the creeks don’t rise any more, fishing should improve throughout the Southland.

Lively action already was reported at Pyramid Lake for striped bass up to 28 pounds, and Lake Casitas and Lake Castaic for largemouths up to 16, with largemouths also stirring at Lake Perris.

A brimful Irvine Lake, meanwhile, is still waiting for the first of those trophy rainbow trout up to 16 pounds planted the last few months to be caught. The lake record is 16 3/4 pounds.
