Mustang junior pitcher Matt Davis, making his first start of the season, shut out the Toros on three hits through the first six innings. Center fielder Mike Olmos led off the top of the seventh with his first home run to end Davis’ hopes for a shutout.
Bart Jennings replaced Davis in the eighth, but Dominguez Hills chased him with four runs, highlighted by a three-run double by left fielder Corey Woinarowicz, to give the Toros a 4-2 lead.
Dominguez Hills designated hitter Ariel Martin extended his hitting streak to 14 games with a run-scoring single in the eighth. Duncan (3-1) pitched two scoreless innings of relief to earn the win. Jennings (1-1) took the loss for the Mustangs (10-4).
