The Cal State Dominguez Hills baseball team split a California Collegiate Athletic Assn. doubleheader with Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, the third-ranked team in NCAA Division II, on Saturday at Carson.
Cal Poly (15-8, 5-3 in CCAA play) scored nine runs in the sixth inning in a 12-1 victory in the first game, but the Scott Veeder pitched a four-hitter to lead Dominguez Hills (19-11, 6-4) to a 2-1 victory in the nightcap.
The teams will play at noon today at Toro Field. It is a make-up of Friday’s game, which was rained out.
