THOUSAND OAKS : Service Academies Discussed at Forum

Thousand Oaks’ high school students interested in seeking congressional nominations to one of the United States service academies can learn more at a forum to be sponsored by Rep. Anthony C. Beilenson’s office.
The Academy Day Forum will provide information about how to apply for nominations to the Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard academies and the Merchant Marine. The forum, scheduled for Oct. 23, is only for those high school students who reside in the 24th Congressional District that stretches from Thousand Oaks to the San Fernando Valley and Malibu.
The forum will be 9 to 11 a.m. at Bay Laurel Elementary School, 24740 Paseo Primario, Calabasas. The 24th District in Ventura County includes Newbury Park, Thousand Oaks, Westlake and parts of Bell Canyon and Lake Sherwood.
