WEEK AT A GLANCE: Van Buren caught nine passes for 111 yards and three touchdowns during the Panthers’ 36-0 rout of Channel Islands. He has 211 catches and 3,472 yards in his career, breaking the Southern Section records of 207 and 3,389 set by former Bishop Amat and USC standout J.K. McKay. Van Buren should eclipse the state records for catches and receiving yardage this week when the Panthers play Simi Valley. He needs six catches and 27 yards to break the records. “All the records are nice,” Van Buren said. “But the only thing that counts is winning.”
