Gwen Welles; Actress Played Singer in ‘Nashville’

Gwen Welles, 42, a film actress probably best known for her portrayal of frustrated country-Western singer Sueleen Gay in the 1975 Robert Altman classic “Nashville.” Her first film was in 1971, Henry Jaglom’s “A Safe Place.” She also was seen in “California Split,” “Between the Lines,” “Nobody’s Fool” and Jaglom’s soon-to-be-released “Lucky Ducks.” In Santa Monica on Wednesday of cancer.
