Pair Wed by Sweat of Brow as Paths Merge at Marathon

NEW YORK — By the time Tom Young and Pam Kezios were set to exchange wedding vows, they were sweating.
It wasn’t nerves. The Chicago couple had just run the first eight miles of the New York City marathon Sunday before taking a 10-minute break to tie the knot.
They staged the ceremony at the eight-mile mark because it was where the men’s and women’s courses merged.
Young, 32, wore a white shirt, black bow tie, black shorts and top hat. Kezios, 31, wore a short white dress and a veil.
As the band played “Our Love Is Here To Stay,” Young picked up his wife, carried her across the curb and off they ran.
