SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO — Damian Raibon scored 29 points, including 19 in the first half, to lead St. Margaret’s to a 102-32 victory over Valley Torah in a first-round Division V-AA playoff game Thursday at St. Margaret’s High.
Although Raibon also had 12 rebounds and six blocked shots, Coach Rick Bauer was quick to point out after the game, “It wasn’t a one-man show. Everyone contributed.”
The Tartans (19-3) had five players score in double figures. Lupe Rodriguez had 14, Danny Gomez 12, David Tomlinson 11 and Bobby Baker 10.
St. Margaret’s put away the Patriots early, outscoring them, 22-6, in the first quarter. Raibon, who scored 13 in the first quarter, sparked the offense with three slam-dunks in the opening quarter.
“We knew we had to put them away early and our fast break was really clicking tonight,” Bauer said.
Valley Torah (9-7) was led by Steve Hami with 12 points.
