California Crude Oil Shipped to Asia: Atlantic Richfield Co. used a special export license for the first time and shipped 200,000 barrels of California heavy crude to buyers in Taiwan and Korea. The license, issued by the Commerce Department in October, is an exception to the ban on exporting domestic oil and applies only to California crude so heavy that it is difficult to market.
