Fountain Valley Medical Development Co.: The owner of Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and Medical Center disclosed in a lawsuit filed last week that it is negotiating to sell the 413-bed facility and all other assets of the holding company for $167 million. The potential buyer was not identified but was described as “one of the largest for-profit health care companies in the country.”
The suit, filed by Fountain Valley Medical Development Co. in Orange County Superior Court, seeks a court order barring a partner in the company from attempting to block the sale of the company and its assets.
A hearing on the matter was set for March 16, after a judge on Friday denied a request for immediate action.
