OXNARD : $500 Taken in Robbery at Strawberry Stand

Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a man who stole $500 from a strawberry stand then locked the lone employee in a restroom until she was freed by nearby farm workers, authorities said.
The robbery occurred about 11:30 a.m. Sunday at a strawberry stand on East 5th Street between Rice and Rose avenues.
The employee told deputies the bandit threatened to shoot her, but did not display a gun. She was locked in the restroom for about 40 minutes but was not injured, said Sheriff’s Sgt. Keith Lazz.
