OUTLOOK
Cautiously optimistic is how Troxel sees the chances of his Eagles, who finished fourth in the Pacific Coast League last season. Troxel begins his first year as the sole head coach after sharing the duties with Ken Millard the last four seasons. Troxel has an impressive battery in Pedro and Jairo Arceyut, both of whom were all-league selections last season. Also, three of the four infield position players return as well as all-league center fielder Martinez. Troxel is a bit worried about his team’s work ethic and who to follow Jairo Arceyut in the rotation. Troxel said Bailey, Myers and Aquirre will have to step forward and contribute on the mound for the Eagles to be successful. Estancia begins 1994 at the Newport Elks tournament with fellow league teams Costa Mesa and Trabuco Hills.
