Younger stepped down after four years to concentrate on coaching in college; Hutcheson resigned after two years to work on getting a full-time teaching job.
Younger, who led the Vanguards to their first girls’ soccer league title this season, also is an assistant coach at Cypress College. Cypress advanced to the State championship game last season.
Younger was named the Southern Section Division II coach of the year this season. The Vanguards finished 20-6, losing in a quarterfinal to Esperanza. Younger’s record at El Modena was 53-27-14.
Hutcheson, who coached the boys’ junior varsity for eight years, had a 39-10-8 record with the girls’ varsity.
