In Division II:
Sunny Hills 18 1/3, South Torrance 2 2/3--Kevin Kim, John Han and Sean Harris swept their singles sets and Joseph Gilbert and Joey Springer swept at No. 2 doubles to lead the top-seeded Lancers (18-1) at the Sunny Hills Racquet Club. Sunny Hills advanced to Tuesday’s quarterfinals against Alhambra Keppel, which beat Loara, 11 2/3-9 1/3.
Los Alamitos 12, Trabuco Hills 9--Todd Kaplan swept his singles sets, 7-6, 6-4, 6-2, and Randy Mano swept his singles sets, 6-1, 6-3, 6-1, to lead Los Alamitos into the quarterfinals. The Griffins face Redlands Tuesday. Redlands beat Esperanza, 16-5, also Thursday.
Laguna Hills 17, Moreno Valley Valley View 4--Tom Yim swept at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-1, 6-2, for Laguna Hills (11-10). Yim remained undefeated with a 30-0 record. Laguna Hills plays Riverside Poly in the quarterfinals Tuesday.
