Pacifica shortstop Valerie Downen orally committed to Creighton, her father Mike said. Downen was the Mariners’ MVP as a sophomore and an All-Garden Grove League selection the past two seasons.
Also making commitments were Kennedy first baseman Erryn Gutjahr (San Diego State) and Villa Park pitcher Brandee McArthur (Pacific).
