Alemany High’s Samantha Rigley, the Times All-Valley girls basketball player of the year in 1994, said Monday she will sign a letter of intent to play basketball at Pepperdine.
The NCAA’s weeklong fall signing period begins Wednesday. She considered the University of San Francisco and the University of Portland, but made her decision after visiting Pepperdine last weekend.
Rigley averaged 14.8 points and six rebounds per game as Alemany won the Southern Section Division II-A championship. The Indians lost to Irvine Woodbridge in the semifinals of the state playoffs.
Rigley, a 5-foot-11 power forward at Alemany, said she will get a chance to start at shooting guard as a freshman for the Waves.
