La Habra : Council Increases Fees for Dog Licenses
- Share via
Dog owners seeking licenses for their pets are now required to pay an increased fee that was levied this week by the City Council.
The annual fee is now $25--or $5 more. If the dog is neutered or spayed, the fee is $12.50--a $2.50 increase. Senior citizens, who are offered discount prices, also will pay more. Their cost is $6.25--an increase of $1.25--for spayed or neutered dogs, and $12.50--a $2.50 increase--for other dogs.
City officials said 3,069 dogs have been licensed so far this year but that many people do not know dogs must have licenses as required by state law. Residents of La Habra must get their dog licenses at City Hall and renew them each year.
