PREP ROUNDUP : Laguna Hills Beats Trabuco Hills With Late Kick

Ken McConaughy scored on a penalty kick seconds before time expired to give Laguna Hills a 2-1 victory over Trabuco Hills in first round of the Aquinas boys’ soccer tournament.
R.J. Sayegh had nine saves in the goal for the Hawks (1-1). Trabuco Hills is 0-1.
In another tournament game:
Orange Lutheran 2, Beaumont 0--Josh Nelson and Matt Stiles scored second half goals for Orange Lutheran (1-0) in a first round game.
In nonleague boys’ soccer:
Cypress 3, Rancho Alamitos 2--Mike Gaitley, Bryan Husket and Luis Zavala scored first half goals for Cypress (2-0).
Edison 2, Orange 2--Jon Zszcoche and Mark Johnson scored goals in last 10 minutes to tie the score for Edison (0-0-1).
Newport Harbor 3, Ocean View 2--Jerome Bouchat had two goals and an assist to lead visiting Newport Harbor (1-0). Steve Kleha had four saves for Newport Harbor.
San Clemente 2, Aliso Niguel 0--Hector Martinez and Cory Priggs each scored to lead host San Clemente (1-0).
Santiago 2, El Modena 1--Albert Taylor scored both goals for host Santiago.
Savanna 1, Katella 1--Steve Dodd scored off an assist by Sergio Perez 12 minutes into the game for Savanna. Daniel Moise tied the score late in first half for Katella (0-0-1).
In the Century girls’ basketball tournament:
Century 58, Sonora 41--Addie Alexander scored 18 points in a first-round victory for host Century (1-0).
Orange 53, Capistrano Valley Christian 19--Charlene Conley and Sunny Lauridsen each scored 12 points for Orange (1-1).
Santa Ana 63, Sunny Hills 30--Tanzenika Holmes’ 29 points and 20 rebounds set school records for Santa Ana (1-0)). Randi Kameoka scored 21 points for Sunny Hills.
Troy 51, Santa Ana Valley 45--Jennie Gadd scored 21 points and Dinah Shah scored 20 to lead host Troy (1-0). Allison Napier led Valley with 14 points.
In the Irvine tournament:
Irvine 49, Anaheim 30--Shawnee Stevens scored 15 points and Melinda Newe scored 13 to lead Irvine (1-0).
In the Los Angeles Washington tournament:
Los Alamitos 56, Dorsey 21--Katie Ensley had 18 points and nine rebounds and Stacey Nichols had 14 points and 16 rebounds to lead Los Alamitos (2-1).
In nonleague girls’ basketball:
Pacifica 53, Corona Del Mar 50 (OT)--Jaymee Pendergast had 16 points for host Pacifica (1-0).
In nonleague girls’ soccer:
Villa Park 7, Loara 0--Susan Mendez scored six goals, giving her 10 this season, for host Villa Park (3-0).
In nonleague wrestling:
Fullerton 53, Bolsa Grande 21--Steve Mercado pinned his opponent in 55 seconds at 135 pounds for Fullerton (1-0).
