Single-Family Home Sales Rise in State: Sales of detached homes were up for the third straight month, a sign that the battered market is recovering despite rising interest rates, the California Assn. of Realtors said. On a seasonally adjusted basis, the number of single-family detached homes that closed escrow during October was up 1.3% over September and 1% above October, 1993, the association said.
