PREP ROUNDUP : Second-Half Surge Gets Edison Girls by Newport Harbor

Trailing, 1-0, at the end of the first-half, Edison came back with two second-half goals to beat Newport Harbor, 2-1, in a nonleague girls’ soccer game Thursday at Newport Harbor.
Loree Tamanaha scored the winning goal after Tami Letterman’s tying goal midway through the second half. Edison is 1-0-1. Shelly Bradbury scored for Newport Harbor (0-2).
In other nonleague girls’ soccer:
Dana Hills 2, Corona del Mar 0--Shawna Tortomasi and Jenny Uriarite scored second-half goals for host Dana Hills (1-0). Corona del Mar is 1-1.
El Toro 3, Mission Viejo 3--Mandi Lashmett scored the tying goal for Mission Viejo with 15 seconds left. Kerri Smith had scored 45 seconds earlier for El Toro (0-0-1).
Esperanza 3, Sunny Hills 0--Sophomore Heather Mears scored two goals to lead Esperanza (1-0-1).
In the Aquinas boys’ soccer tournament:
Orange Lutheran 4, Yucca Valley 2--Patrick Chollet-Guibert scored two goals for Orange Lutheran in second-round action. The Lancers (2-0) will play in the semifinals Saturday.
