COLLEGE FOOTBALL: THE BOWLS : CITRUS : Alabama Taking a Laid-Back Approach
- Share via
Ohio State seems to be taking the Jan. 2 game against Alabama rather seriously. The team arrived in Orlando, Fla., Dec. 18 and decided to go across the state to sequester itself in Melbourne for secret two-a-day practices.
Penn State used a similar early arrival to beat Tennessee, 31-13, in the last Citrus Bowl. Meanwhile, Alabama is taking a lower key approach to the game. The Crimson Tide had single practices last Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and a one-hour light workout on Thursday. The team has broken for the holiday and players are on their own and supposed to get to Orlando by Monday afternoon.
