In the lull until the summer tourism season kicks in, hotels are trying to find novel ways to provide discounts to groups.
The Best Western Bay Shores Inn, a Balboa Boulevard motel in Newport Beach, is offering a 25% discount to American Assn. of Retired Persons members. The Best Western chain is also offering a senior citizen incentive program that includes discounts on Amtrak travel and gourmet food.
