A Costa Mesa woman suffered minor injuries Thursday morning when her car apparently ran a red light, struck another vehicle, crashed through a chain-link fence and landed in a drainage ditch, police said.
Dorothea Mulligan, 56, was westbound on Sunflower Avenue at Flower Street when she collided with Naota Miyashita, 23, of Irvine, who was making a left turn, said Sgt. Bob Baumgardner of the Costa Mesa Police Department.
Mulligan was taken to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana and treated for internal injuries and a concussion, Baumgardner said. Miyashita was uninjured, police said.
The incident is under investigation.
