HUNTINGTON BEACH — Trustees for the high school district that covers Huntington Beach, Westminster and Fountain Valley have passed a new regulation for “tobacco-free schools.”
The measure was unanimously approved Tuesday by the board of the Huntington Beach Union High School District.
The regulation prohibits smoking by students and faculty in any building or district-owned vehicle.
However, the measure does allow designated outdoor areas for employees to smoke. The regulation stipulates that “these designated areas must be out of the sight of students.”
