CHICAGO — A woman trying to stop her baby from crying was charged with first-degree murder after she threw him from an eighth-floor window, police said Thursday.
Deborah Turner, 35, admitted kicking 16-month-old Tyler Marshall, then throwing him out the window after he began crying, an officer said.
The baby, wearing only diapers, was found lying on a patch of dirt outside a housing project where Turner reportedly was visiting friends Wednesday. Police said they were investigating reports that the woman had been smoking crack cocaine and drinking.
