A Camarillo firm that publishes camping magazines and manages the huge Good Sam Club has announced it will move to a larger site in Ventura.
The Affinity Group Inc. announced this week that it acquired the former Bank of A. Levy building at 2575 Vista del Mar, near Seaward Avenue, according to Carol Vautin, a spokeswoman for the company.
“We’ve experienced a wonderful growth mode over the last two years and need room to expand,” she said.
Affinity, with its 150-member work force, owns TL Enterprises, which publishes Trailer Life magazine. The firm also owns and manages the nearly 1-million-member Good Sam camping services club, along with Golf Card International and the National Assn. of Female Executives.
After moving from headquarters in Agoura three years ago, the firm settled in a 50,000-square-foot building on Calle Tecate in Camarillo. But with recent increases in business, Affinity officials said they needed more space and decided to buy the 73,000-square-foot building in Ventura.
Vautin said that after escrow closes in June, the firm plans to make renovations to the building before moving in by October.
