Vaughn Lifts Red Sox Past Angels, 3-2

BOSTON — Mo Vaughn’s 13th home run snapped a tie and boosted Erik Hanson’s record to 6-0 Monday night as the Boston Red Sox won their seventh consecutive game, 3-2 over the Angels.
Hanson allowed seven hits in seven innings, striking out three.
Ken Ryan pitched the ninth for his seventh save.
Mike Bielecki (2-2) struck out five in six innings, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks. Chili Davis had three hits for the Angels.
The teams traded two-run homers in the first. Tim Salmon hit his ninth of the year for the Angels and Reggie Jefferson answered with his third.
Vaughn led off the fourth with a 413-foot shot to the triangle in center field to break the deadlock.
