LANCASTER — A fire ravaged an estimated 60 acres of desert brush and threatened some homes Monday until county firefighters extinguished the blaze after about an hour, officials said.
The fire started about 3 p.m. near 25th Street and Avenue J, county fire dispatcher Art Marrujo said. It was put out by 120 firefighters helped by three helicopters, he said.
No property was damaged and no one was hurt, Marrujo said.
The cause is under investigation.
