A Balancing Act

* Re: “Coalition Hopes to Halt Cuts in Funds for Needy” (June 27):
Of course the people who “rely” on county health and social services will be hurt the most by program cuts. People who are producers of work tend to be more self-reliant. “Balancing the bankrupt county’s budget on the backs of minorities and the impoverished” makes it sound like they actually work for the charity they receive.
Since when is it moral to continue to provide funds and security to the non-producers when the producers (taxpayers) have no more money or security to give! Robin Hood, who stole from the rich to give to the poor, is not moral or a hero to me.
Likewise, neither are the members of this self-proclaimed, righteous coalition.
