City, Builder Discuss Entertainment Center

Thousand Oaks officials will negotiate with an El Segundo-based company to develop an entertainment center next to the Civic Arts Plaza.
City Council members, functioning as the city’s redevelopment agency board, voted Tuesday to work with Kilroy Industries, one of three companies considered for the project.
Current plans for the center, which would occupy the empty lot next to the plaza on Thousand Oaks Boulevard, call for a multiscreen theater, restaurants, shops and possibly a virtual reality arcade.
During the next month, the city will discuss with Kilroy issues including the project’s size and cost.
If talks proceed smoothly, the city may enter into an exclusive negotiating contract with Kilroy in September.
