FCC Lets Rupert Murdoch Keep Network: Capping a two-year investigation, federal regulators issued a ruling letting the media mogul keep his Fox Television network. The Federal Communications Commission ruled that Murdoch’s continued ownership of the network serves the public interest, even though Fox’s ownership exceeds federal limits on foreign ownership. “Our good name has been restored,” Murdoch said in a statement. Voting 5 to 0, the FCC said the Fox Network has served the public interest by expanding competition to the Big Three broadcast networks, multiplying program choices for viewers and creating thousands of jobs.
