Two USC students who were hit by a car as they crossed a street near the campus were hospitalized at County-USC Medical Center.
Lisa Madrigal and Jason Willis, both 19, were crossing Figueroa Street at 30th Street in South Los Angeles at 12:25 a.m. Wednesday when they were struck by the vehicle, said Los Angeles Police Officer Brian Mahoney. Two other students escaped harm by jumping out of the car’s way, he said.
A witness told investigators the car had a green light, while the students said it was yellow. The driver was not cited. Madrigal was listed in critical condition and Willis was in serious condition.
