SANTA ANA — The committee seeking a recall of Assembly Speaker Doris Allen said that on Monday, it will submit the last of the signatures required to put the issue on the Nov. 7 ballot.
The Cypress Republican was targeted for recall in June when she joined 39 Democrats in the Assembly to win election as speaker. Backed by several Orange County Republicans, leaders of the campaign against Allen have said they will have more than the required 25,606 signatures Monday.
As of Thursday, the Orange County registrar of voters’ office had tallied 19,479 valid signatures on petitions to recall Allen.
The committee plans to deliver the last batch of signatures at the registrar of voters office on Grand Avenue in Santa Ana at 10 a.m. Monday.
