Sheriff’s deputies were forced to break up a brawl that erupted in a crowd of about 200 people at Universal CityWalk early Sunday, making one arrest for fighting in public.
Shindana Blunt, 21, was taken into custody after a fight that started just after 1 a.m. outside the Athletic Club at the popular shopping and restaurant attraction at Universal Studios, authorities said.
The crowd outside the club was gathered for a private party, according to Sgt. Guy Earl of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.
“Three or four people within the crowd started the fight, and then a large group of people initially refused to leave,” Earl said.
Eventually, crowd members heeded the request to disperse. There were no injuries, officials said.
Law enforcement officials say that between 30,000 and 50,000 people tour CityWalk each day.
