Trabuco Hills Names Carrillo Boys’ Soccer Coach

Ed Carrillo has been named boys’ soccer coach at Trabuco Hills, Athletic Director Gary Sabella said Tuesday.
Carrillo previously coached at Orange for seven years, winning three Century League titles and compiling a 93-49-26 record.
His Orange teams reached the Southern Section finals in 1990 and the quarterfinals in 1995. He was the league’s coach of the year in 1991 and 1995.
Carrillo replaces John Guinnane, who moved away in the off-season.

Arthur Prevost has been named an assistant women’s basketball coach at UC Irvine.
Prevost, 28, was an assistant at Texas El Paso last season. He was a point guard for two seasons at Lamar University.
Prevost replaces Richard Butcher, whose contract was not renewed.

Splash goalkeeper Ruben Fernandez, who has given up only three goals in each of his team’s last three games, was named the Continental Indoor Soccer League’s player of the week Tuesday.
Fernandez, 27, had 20 saves in the Splash’s 4-3 victory over Mexico on Sunday, including nine in the fourth quarter when the Toros outshot the Splash, 14-4.
