Nuclear Testing

I find all the protests over the French nuclear weapons tests in the South Pacific by Greenpeace to be very biased. When is Greenpeace going to go to China to disrupt its nuclear weapons test, where many have been conducted already this year, as well as a ballistic missile test that was aimed off the coast of Taiwan? Is Greenpeace a friend of brutal communist dictatorships? Or is Greenpeace afraid of incurring the wrath of such a regime?
If Greenpeace keeps up this bias, it is no friend of the Earth.

* I wish as a French citizen to present my apologies to the rest of the civilized world for the stone-headedness and arrogance displayed by the French government in the carrying forth of its threatened underground explosions of nuclear bombs in Polynesia.
I totally support the marches, demonstrations and boycotts against my country by the world’s nations and peoples.

* Re the Mumia Abu-Jamal case, Sept. 6:
With regard to the outcry of French intellectuals over the barbarity of the U.S. justice system, my response: “What’s that? I couldn’t hear you. There was a nuclear bomb going off in my back yard.”
