THOUSAND OAKS : Forum on Safety, Youth Crime Tonight
- Share via
On the heels of a stabbing near Westlake High School, Thousand Oaks law enforcement officials tonight will offer a forum on public safety and youth crime.
Representatives from the Ventura County sheriff’s crime prevention unit and the court system will answer questions on youth violence at the forum, which is titled “Juvenile Offenders in the Justice System.”
Friday, three Westlake High School students were attacked by suspected gang members outside Hudson’s Grill, according to sheriff’s deputies. One suffered a stab wound, another was left with a cut head and broken hand, and the third suffered a smashed forehead. Thousand Oaks law enforcement officials said several community forums are being offered this year to involve the public in preventing crime. Last month, a forum in Newbury Park addressed drug use.
The 7 p.m. free forum is scheduled for the Little Theater at Westlake High School, 100 N. Lakeview Canyon Road.
