Flames Build 3-0 Lead, Beat the Kings, 3-2

PHOENIX — Todd Hlushko scored one of Calgary’s two power-play goals as the Flames beat the Kings, 3-2, in a penalty-marred NHL exhibition game Wednesday night.
Hlushko took a centering pass from Dean Kennedy and flipped a four-foot wrist shot past King goaltender Frederick Beaubien at 15:45 of the second period, giving the Flames a 3-0 lead.
The Kings, playing with a roster filled with minor leaguers, rallied over the next 10 minutes.
Eric Lacroix scored a power-play goal at 16:45 of the second period, and Marty McSorley added another power-play goal at 6:22 of the third.
