Sept. 11’s “Nice Work if You Can Get It” was a very enlightening article. The state of California is facing a serious financial dilemma. Because of this, health facilities in Los Angeles County are closing, school programs throughout the state are being reduced and law enforcement hiring is being curtailed. Yet there are jobs within the state government paying an annual salary from $87,305 to $103,178 for one to two hours of work a month.
If the California legislators are serious about cutting the fat, let’s start where it won’t hurt--the board and commissions of the state of California.
