Fire safety will be taught to preschool and elementary students next year in a pilot program funded by a $20,000 grant to the Fire Department.
Anaheim is one of 10 U.S. cities to receive the educational grant, provided by the National Fire Protection Assn.
During the pilot phase, 10 teachers with the Anaheim City and Magnolia school districts will be trained in February on how to lead the classes. The program will then be presented to about 350 students.
