August Wilson to Be Feted at Gala Staging of ‘Seven Guitars’

Two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright August Wilson will be honored by Center Theatre Group at a gala benefit performance of his play “Seven Guitars” at the Ahmanson Theatre on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
All proceeds will go to Blacksmyths, the black playwrights project of the Center Theatre Group/Mark Taper Forum, now in its second season of developing new plays by black writers.
Tickets for the black-tie performance are $200 each and include show, supper with the playwright, director and cast as well as entertainment. Information: (213) 972-7660.
