Myrna Lee Jones, Los Angeles Zoo trustee and docent. An advocate of wild animal preservation, she led zoo-sponsored educational safaris to Kenya and Tanzania and conducted educational programs throughout Southern California. She recently designed special programs for physically and developmentally disabled children at the zoo and elsewhere to give them firsthand contact with animals. “Myrna gave so much of herself to the L.A. Zoo,” said Kaye Jamison, co-founder of the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Assn. “Her generous spirit and commitment to the zoo and its animals contributed to many of the successes the zoo experienced during her distinguished service there.” On Saturday in Los Angeles.
