A high-speed police chase that started in Camarillo and reached speeds of 110 mph along the Ventura Freeway ended without incident in Los Angeles County on Thursday, officials said.
The pursuit started about 8:30 p.m. when Ventura County sheriff’s deputies spotted a reckless driver on Cottage Grove Avenue near Pleasant Valley Road.
When deputies tried to make a traffic stop, the driver accelerated onto the freeway and led three patrol cars on a 30-mile chase that ended on Kanan Road in Agoura Hills about 9 p.m., Ventura County Sheriff’s Deputy Larry Logan said.
Logan said the driver was arrested but he could not provide the man’s name or what he will be charged with.
“I think it’s a safe assumption that he will be charged with evading arrest,” Logan said. “Other than that, I just don’t know.”
