The drug Rescriptor may reduce the probability of HIV patients developing AIDS, according to the Swedish-American drug company Pharmacia & Upjohn.
Rescriptor, also known under its scientific name delavirdine, may reduce the amount of virus circulating in the bloodstream by at least 68% for as long as 60 weeks. The company said it may be able to seek dispensation from the Food and Drug Administration to rush the drug into production.
