Bradley on Racism

Re “Ending Racism Can Never Be Just About Numbers,” Commentary, Jan. 15:
With Olympian condescension, Sen. Bill Bradley (D-N.J.) states that anyone who disagrees with him on affirmative action is either a racist or ignorant.
If Bradley could stop congratulating himself on his noble thoughts for a second, maybe he would realize that being against judging people by their color--which is what affirmative action amounts to--is the true way to fight for fairness; moreover, politicians like Bradley who have battled for such programs are more responsible for retarding the transition to a truly equal society than almost anyone else.
