Weiskopf Misses Pro-Am, So He’s Out of Tournament

NEWPORT BEACH — When Tom Weiskopf didn’t show for his 1 p.m. tee time for the Toshiba Senior Classic pro-am Thursday, he effectively withdrew from the tournament.

Weiskopf, who finished tied for eighth last year, had a course-design commitment in Japan, said Phil Stambaugh, PGA media official.

“He probably didn’t know he entered or forgot he entered,” Stambaugh said. “This happens, these guys are over 50.”
