Oxnard Man, 22, Held in Stabbing

A stabbing early Sunday in Santa Paula sent one man to the hospital and another to jail.
Santa Paula police arrested Peter Rodriguez, 22, of Oxnard on charges of attempted murder. He remained in the Ventura County Jail on Sunday afternoon in lieu of $50,000 bail, police said.
The 24-year-old victim, Juan Carlos Torres of Santa Paula, was treated at Santa Paula Memorial Hospital and released.
About 2:40 a.m. police responded to a report of people fighting in the 300 block of South 8th Street. They found Torres with one stab wound to the chest. Torres gave police a description of his attacker and told them the direction the man had fled.
A short time later, police found Rodriguez and arrested him without incident.
